The town lies in a valley of the Vltava river, in a place where the river-basin forms several curves. The architecture of the town comes from the medieval era (12th - 14th century). The town centre and the castle belong to the UNESCO World Heritage. While walking in the narrow streets of the historical centre with its old houses, one can easily feel the atmosphere of past centuries.

It's possible to join this tour with a visit of the Hluboká castle. originally built in the gothical style, then rebuilt into baroque in the 18th century and finally reconstructed in a style of the royal castle of Windsor, England.
